When I painted Sailor at Dusk, I was drawn to the quiet and wild power of twilight—the way the day surrenders to night with a fiery grace. The colours.. their vibrance, evoke the setting sun's warmth, while soft lavender hint at the stillness that follows.
It’s a moment that feels both infinite and fleeting.

As I painted.. as usual, thoughts and feelings unfold with the process. The horizon became more than a meeting of sky and water; it became a symbol of something vast but steady, of warmth found even in the unpredictable, of an astonishing, wildly unexplored, yet familiar sensation.

This piece feels like more than a sunset—it’s a reflection of something deeply personal. In its layers of colour, I see a quiet strength, a presence that lingers, and a tenderness that anchors me. A light that doesn't stand alone but is reflected. A glow that can only show its fullness when witnessed.

Sailor at Dusk is both a love letter and a quiet meditation on nature's vast, steady, wild and grounding momentum.

Vast, untamed and deeply intimate, like the perfect love.
